The Tardive Dyskinesia Center aims to educate the public about tardive dyskinesia, a serious movement disorder with symptoms similar to Parkinson's disease. It can develop in patients who have been treated with certain prescription antipsychotics. As many as 1 out of every 5 patients taking neuroleptic or antipsychotic medications for longer than three months will develop the condition, which can be permanent and has no known cure.
