NAMI Eastside was awarded a grant in 2004 from
the King County Regional Service Network (RSN) for our Art Project.
The project was so successful that we are continuing to hold Art Sessions
even though the grant period has officially ended.
Workshops are open to individuals who have
a serious mental illness who live on the Eastside. The RSVP list is
on a first come first served basis, with those enrolled in the public
mental health system receiving first priority. Scheduled practice sessions
are open to all, to work on whatever type of art project we have supplies
for, including items for our Button-Making Consumer Fundraising Project.
We would like to be able to work in many media,
including acrylics, watercolor, oil pastels, beading, etc. If you are
an artist and would like to share your skills with us in these or other
areas, please contact Helen.
Workshops or practice sessions are currently
held the 2nd Saturday of every month from noon to 3pm. For the months
of November and December, the Consumer
Art Class will meet on the first
Saturday of each month, noon -3:00pm. November 4, 2006 and December
2, 2006. In January, the class will go back to its usual day, the 2nd
Saturday of each month.
